at the park all the time. this was used to hoist the firefighters up there so they could assist the folks that were stuck up on that ride 150 feet up in the air. this happened before a twist. riders were luckily stuck right up. a nerve racking two hour ordeal for these riders. six flags will investigate later today what caused the ride to stall out. is a spokesperson told us this was a computer programming issue. vallejo firefighters were called in yesterday afternoon. they used this crane to bring waters to the stranded riders. and while mechanics at the same time were working to restart the ride eventually everyone was brought back down safely to the ground and we talked with battalion chief that requires this crane to remain on site in case something like this happens. >> we arrived. we put the crane on site into place. we actually have done training with this in case the situation arose. >> reporter: none of the riders in the end were hurt. and the superman ride will remain closed for a thorough inspection here at six flags. it won't reopen until the problem has been identified and pr

killed in gilroy. alex savidge tells us now about the questions that are surrounding this tragic accident. good morning, alex. >> reporter: good morning, to you, pam. the officers home is on kentwood court in gilroy. the shooting happened here around 5:00 last night. gilroy police investigators are trying to figure out if this three-year-old boy shot himself or accidentally shot by someone else. this investigation will focus on how the gun was stored in the home. paramedics last night tried to revive that boy. this morning gilroy dispatch newspapers identifying the boy's father as san jose police officer brandon orlando. the paper is also reporting that police are looking at a couple possibilities here. the boy shot himself or the boy was possibly shot by a play mate another child who was over at the home and playing with that young boy. because of the serious nature of this and the fact that it involves the death of a child, we understand the santa clara county child death protocol has been act visited -- has been activated for a thorough investigation. alex savidge. >>> we do h

savidge joins us with more on that and a near drowning of a three-year-old boy that also lived at that house. >> reporter: oakland police started searching for those missing kids after their sibling a three-year-old boy was rushed to the hospital reportedly after a near drowning. he was found unresponsive in a bathtub. he was eventually revived. the boys babysitter, mother, and stepfather have been arrested on suspicion of child abuse. the search is on for the couples four other children that are missing. police believe other relatives are hiding. >> reporter: no photos are available of the children but we are told they are all african american. based on the condition of the boy that is here at children's hospital he is showing signs of child abuse. oakland police are very concern this morning. they are worried about the well being of those missing kids given the condition the three- year-old boy here at children's hospital is in. this morning we are asking for the publics help. if you know where they are or how they can be reach, reach out to oakland police. >>> today's chroni

: her adult son beaten and they both live in this house behind us on hanson street. everything happened just after 10:00 last night that is when three suspects confronted the woman outside of her house and barged inside. all four people to who live here were forced into the family room. at some point one of the men and the suspects started a fight. he opened fire and shots broke out and at last check, they are still on the loose according to police. this morning union city police are telling us they do believe the motive for this crime is home invasion style robbery was indeed theft although at this point it is unclear if these suspects who barged into the house stole anything from the home but again, a woman shot, she underwent surgery and her condition is not known and of course i will work to get information, alex savage ktvu channel 2 morning news. >>> it was a very tense scene overnight. our surveillance cameras took footage near the area last night. a man wanted for a serious crime several miles north of sunny veil. the search lasted several hours but there was no sign of that wan
